Welcome to my website
I have set up this website to keep everyone up to speed with the Youngman household. Updates will only happen when I have time so I can't promise it will be up to date.
Jackie and I had a fantastic 2009 with one of the highlights being a trip to Zambia at Easter. I had been invited to speak at a church conference over the weekend. Before the request came I had been impacted a number of times to pray for Zambia. My school diary for 2008/2009 shows a numbers entries when I felt simply burdened for Zambia. I didn't know why, all I could say for certain was that God was laying Zambia on my heart. When the invite came I knew I had to say yes in obedience to God. After talking it through with Jackie we were sure Jackie should come too.
Prior to leaving, our church leaders and family gathered round us to pray. The sharing and the prayers convinced us that God had something very significant in store for us and for the people we were to minister to.
As we stepped on Zambian soil, in obedience to God, we took off our shoes and walked bare footed on "Holy ground". Little did we know that our love passion for the nation and the people of Zambia had just begun. During the 7 hour bus ride from Lusaka to Ndola, Jackie's love for Zambia grew.
A couple of days later it was clear that the love which had found a root in our hearts had come from God himself as He demonstrated to the people His love by healing so many of their emotional, spiritual and physical ills. We saw many healed of broken hearts, set free from family curses and witchcraft. We saw many healed miraculously through the power of Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus. A little girl born blind, of around 4 years of age, was healed and received her sight. A man with a painfull partly distorted arm and wrist had his arm completely healed and the pain removed. A woman who found walking painfull due to a growth on her spine was also completely healed; her testimony was so encouraging. So the list goes on. Yes we were there, yes God used us but it was the God who showed His love for us on the cross through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, who simply reached out that love to these Zambian lives.
At some point we will write it all down for those that are interested.
A week prior to the trip our second grandson, Moses was born: Lo'is and Chris's second son. Early in June Ruth and Jamie had a baby boy, Joshua; our third grandson!
Towards the end of the year our son Peter and his wife Chelle announced to us that God had told them to sell their house, settle their mortgage and to 'owe no man anything except to love him.' So they did. Yes in a failing housing market they sold the house for the asking price before the estate agent had even got the details out! It seemed clear to Jackie and I, and them, that God was saying they should move in with us. Over the Christmas break they moved in and another great adventure started. A few months and an attic conversion later, Peter, Chelle and Mordecai who was born on the 23rd January , are settled in their bedsit style room with on-suite and Mordecai has his own room. We still have a room for the grandchildren and a guest room, so if any of our friends fancy a stay with us just give us call.
